Una Comunidad Conectada, One Connected Community, was launched in March 2018 by Urban Health Partnerships (UHP). The project focused on the implementation of the Community Liaison (CL) Framework with the purpose of authentically engaging and integrating residents within the Healthy Little Havana (HLH) organization. The Community Liaison Framework aligns with HLH’s core principles of civic participation and hiring from within the community. By 2020, a Community Liaison Coordinator as well as a team of Community Liaisons became an integral part of HLH’s staff, and have served on every project to assure the community’s voices and needs are represented throughout the organization’s work.
